Donna's Message

       Welcome.  I am guessing since you are here that you may have discovered that your teen or someone close to you is using drugs.  That’s a frightening discovery!  I have written this book based on my experiences related to the discovery that my son at the age of 19, had been using drugs since high school.  My desire is to provide  a resource for others blind sided with this discovery.  I hope to turn my “mess” into a message.

Some say that life begins at the end of your comfort zone.  Well my comfort zone ended on February 1, 2004.  That is the day my son was arrested for drug possession and I was confronted with the reality that Matt is a drug addict.  He was a tweeker (meth), junkie (heroin) and one messed up teenager!  I began a journey that I never thought I would take.   Since then I have learned never to say “that won’t happen to me” because life has a funny way of proving us wrong. 

      In 2020 Matt will be clean and sober for 16 years, remarkably with no drug relapses.  Pretty good for a user who could have died years ago!  Matt believes had he not changed his ways he was destined for death.
